Our Story

What started it

I've raced 14 full Ironmans, 25 half Ironmans, and 10 American Birkebeiners, and I've been disappointed by a sock in most of them. Call it [X] hours of training for every hour on the course. That's a lot of hours thinking about my feet.

The best performance socks on the market weren't fully solving the problems they were built to solve, and they were boring on top of it. The socks I actually liked didn't come close to performing. I kept waiting for someone to fix that. In 2024 I stopped waiting.

Who's making it happen

David Schatz / Founder

David is the founder of DLORNA and the reason it exists. Before socks he spent fifteen years in film, two in fashion design, and several helping nonprofits tell their stories. He is a lifelong pianist, reads at least a book a month, and has patient, stubborn jaws for any problem he sinks his teeth into. He splits his time between Colorado, Hawaii, and the mountains around Jackson, Wyoming.

Kristen Pandolph / Product Development Lead

Kristen has spent over 30 years making socks, from the factory floor to design and product development. She spent nearly a decade helping Bombas grow, after work with Dickies, Saucony, and Cole Haan. She leads product development at DLORNA.
